HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP-OK IN MODERATION DON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE

I should make myself clear from the beginning. I do not like High Fructose Corn Syrup and I ALSO do not like white refined sugar AKA Beet Sugar, yes that’s right Beet Sugar. The white stuff in those envelopes isn’t from sugar cane it is highly refined BEET SUGAR, heck it hasn’t been cane sugar since the 1970’s suspiciously around the same time kids started presenting with diseases like cholesterol problems, type 2 diabetes ADHD!!!! THE LIST IS ENDLESS. But this article will stick to one evil at a time HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP “HFCS” or now that’s its been newly named CORN SUGAR.

THE increasing rate of childhood type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obesity……….uh you can point the finger right at this highly toxic additive they call High Fructose Corn Syrup.

HFSC is 80% fructose (fruit sugar) and 20% Glucose ( sugar), and on the surface comparing it with Glucose’s 50-50 split having the same calories ( four calories per gram) you might actually assume it’s the same, especially when CORN REFINERS ASSOCIATION spend millions on advertising campaigns targeted at YOU explaining how your body can’t tell the difference……..,..well I care to differ and so does your LIVER here’s why:

Fructose is metabolized in a different way than glucose. They are both simple sugars, Sucrose or table sugar is one part glucose one part fructose 1:1 ratio. Glucose gets broken down (metabolized) and converted to ATP and burned for energy in the mitochondria of the cell. Glucose can be stored as well in the liver for later use. Fructose cannot be stored this way, instead it is flooded through the liver drowning it, so to speak which floods metabolic pathways that cause your liver to produce TRIGYLERIDES or FAT so the body can store the unneeded energy in the form of FAT. This in turn increases a person risk for cardiac problems……so gee it wasn’t egg yolks hmmmm. Another causative effect of flooding our livers with FRUCTOSE is a high uric acid output (one word GOUT). Now while the liver is inundated with FRUCTOSE the metabolism of glucose is impaired as well, so its a double whammy in that all the sugars your ingesting isn’t getting metabolized it is getting converted to FAT, this in turn causes fatty liver disease, insulin resistance, diabetes, gout, and heart disease.

Now here’s the best part. Try to eliminate HFSC from your diet…..unless you make drastic changes its near impossible…..its in BREAD, CEREAL, APPLESAUCE ( HEALTHY RIGHT NOT) CRANBERRY SAUCE, JARRED SPAGETTI SAUCE, BREAKFAST SAUSAGES, FRUIT JUICES, BAKED GOODS, NON DAIRY CREAMERS, SO MANY OTHER THINGS YOU’D NEVER THINK CONTAIN THE STUFF. Here’s a tip…..organic products cannot contain it. –the other reason is that HFCS is GENETICALLY MODIFIED, which if Diabetes don’t kill you GMO’s will but that’s another article. My opinion is to eliminate all processed sugars from you diet and your children’s diet…..Opt for better choices like maple sugar, sucanat, agave, and stevia which is even safe for a diabetic…..make this one change and it’ll pay off long haul…..thanks for reading.
